Providing specialised care for eosinophilic oesophagitis, helping you regain control over your health with tailored treatments and expert advice.
Eosinophilic oesophagitis (EoE) is a chronic allergic inflammatory condition of the oesophagus. It is caused by an accumulation of eosinophils (a type of white blood cell) in the oesophageal lining, leading to difficulty swallowing, chest discomfort, and food impaction. If untreated, EoE can result in long-term damage, including oesophageal narrowing.
Triggers like dairy, wheat, soy, or nuts.
Pollen, dust mites, or mould.
Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease
(GERD) exacerbates EoE.
Certain drugs may contribute to oesophageal inflammation.
All phenotypes are linked to allergic predisposition (e.g., asthma, eczema, rhinitis) and elevated eosinophils in the oesophagus
